The rewards of silence–Sneaking up on turtles

My first kayak trip of the spring and my camera surprises me!

I realized the stillness I want to practice works out perfectly in a kayak when it comes to sneaking up on unsuspecting wildlife.

It paid off big time with a close-up view of a beaver (my first one – wish I’d gotten a picture of him) and these three painted turtles:

turtles1-720

turtles2-720

turtles3-720

I was surprised how tame they were. And how cooperative my camera could be. 🙂

There are many rewards to practicing silence.
