I have a favorite saying:
“I’m slow but I get it eventually.”
But twelve years? Seriously? 🙂
That’s how long it took me to discover this little paradise just across the street and down the hill from my house (which is both on a busy street and near railroad tracks):
It’s no wonder so many spring migrant birds come through my yard!
And while traveling down this lovely path …
I saw more evidence of new life as Spring once again renews the land:
What was it that Dorothy learned after being whisked away from her home and transported to Oz?
“If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with! Is that right?”
How much do we miss that is right in front of us because we’re too busy looking beyond our horizons?
What are we missing right now?
There really is something to be said about planting oneself in the present moment. How much I miss by not doing that!
I have twelve years of hiking in my little paradise paradise to catch up on.
What is in front of you that you may be missing?
