Remember what it was like to lay sprawled out on the floor surrounded by crayons, markers and pencils, filling in the pages of your favorite coloring book?
After finishing a picture, I would hold it up, admire my work and run to show it to my mom and dad.
There was something about coloring that just felt good, especially with a large box of Crayola Crayons (especially if it had a Sea Green crayon).
An adult activity
Coloring has become all the rage with adults as demonstrated by the best selling Secret Garden coloring book (which I gave to my daughter last year for her birthday). Experts say that it relieves stress and stimulates creativity.
Maybe because it causes us to unplug from technology, work and multi-tasking. Maybe because it quiets our minds and soothes the spirit.
And the beauty of it is, anyone can do it.
I see it as a way of creating internal harmony. Anytime we can slow down and be quiet creates a gateway to harmony. A simple activity like coloring can unlock something wonderful inside of us.
Harmony Coloring Book
So I thought it would be cool to create my own Harmony Coloring Book to give away to you. I’ve converted photographs to drawings and provided the photo as a guide (but let your imagination fly, these are your pictures). Most are mine with some from the internet to provide enough variety. Here are sample pages:
How to get your free copy
All you have to do is subscribe to this blog by signing up with my email list and I’ll send you the Harmony Coloring Book in PDF format. You would get an email once a week, even if I post more than once in a week. I don’t like my mailbox being cluttered either!
Show off your work
I would love to see the results of your coloring. Send me pictures you’ve colored to email@example.com and I’ll showcase them on the blog.
Don’t forget to subscribe so I can send the book to you.
NOTE: If you are already subscribed to this blog through WordPress, write to me and I’ll send you the coloring book. Those already on my email list will receive the link to their book through email.
NOTE: On susanbailey.org, I just posted a song based upon the writings of St. Faustina, in honor of Divine Mercy Sunday which takes place the week after Easter. You can listen to it here: “Bathe yourselves in mercy” in this Song of Divine Mercy based on St. Faustina’s writings http://wp.me/p6vomf-1yl
